I just saw this thread...very cool to see. Maybe I'll try this this summer myself. I have several damaged cigars and plenty of whole leaf.

The resulting cavendishish is fairly bland by itself, but makes an excellent blending component and absorbs toppings well.

This is why I tried soaking my cigar leaf with whiskey and extracts 24 hours before steaming it. It was psuedo-successful.
