Excellent work Blake!
Little update on the project. My cell takes pretty crappy pics so the color seems off a bit, once it's done I'll get a good pic with the actual camera. Was originally planning on just putting a poly on it for a finish and being good with that. More I thought about it the more I wanted to keep the nice grain in it but add some reddish tint to it so I decided to give some satin Minwax Polyshade natural Cherry A try.

I am a little disappointed in how much of the grain I lost but absolutely love the color it gave so I'm happy with how it's looking. Here's a pic after the first coat.

Then second (final) coat. Still need to give a light going over with some steel wool and to line the pipe slots with something but here's how it's sitting as of right now.

Great job!
Love it!
a real beauty!
And I think I'll call it done. I was thinking about lining the grooves for the stems but then decided it would take attention away from the whole reason for the display piece, the pipes. Cut out some black suede pieces to line under the bowls and I'm happy with the finished product. Even with a proper camera and trying multiple amounts of lighting I had a hard time getting the color tone just right. The last picture is too yellow but shows the grain better than the first 2 (which seem to mute the grain for some reason) but I wanted to get a pic with all my pipes on it. It essentially came out the color of the first 2 pics with the visible grain of the last. I'm not a photographer LOL. I got it done just in time to find out I'm getting a decent tax return this year and am going to be setting up a proper shop, with the tools I would have needed to build it right. None the less I'm going to get setup and might load this thing up with some pipe's I'm going to try my hand at making...
None the less here's the finished project.

You can be damn proud of yourself! This is one great looking cabinet Bluenoser. I wouldn’t mind having one in my study. What are the measurements of the cabinet if I may ask?
Thanks. Its about 17"w x 9"d x 23"h
