Bruck's Cold Pressed Flake Batch 19

... is in the press right now, getting ready to take it out. It contains:

Peach/vanilla topped cavendish, cigar scrap cavendish, a VA blend that @Tobias Lutz topped with some sweet stuff, VA red, VA lemon, Imzir, MD red tips, KY burley, latakia, perique. Topped with a peach/vanilla that @Madbricky concocted, dark rum, and DW.

    Will post some pics momentarily.

    As promised, some tobacco pron:

Fresh out of the hydraulic press (750 psi est.).

And it's now resting under light pressure (2 25# plates), along with a couple other batches of flake that I've pressed over the past couple weeks. I keep the flakes under some weight till they solidify and dry out a bit, which is usually about 2 weeks.

Has anyone here sliced their flake or does everyone just crumble?

This was pressed using 4" c-clamps, and it held up fine. The stuff Bruce makes with a hydraulic press is just like opening a tin of Dunhill or Peterson flake.

@Tobias Lutz did you just use a kitchen knife or how did you slice it?

I always slice mine, then fold and break it up a little when loading the pipe. I use one of these:

It's been sliced. Tried some a few day ago, still a bit damp. I dry the slices gradually in the jar - lid off for a day, lid on for a day, etc., till it feels like about the right moisture level.
