I just had to pitch a jar of homemake flake today as it got moldy Sorry, no pics, I didn't think to take any in my distress. Anyway, we all know what mold looks like - it definitely wasn't plume!
So, word to the wise, be careful about moisture levels with your homemade flake. Without preservatives, mold can have a field day. I'm usually pretty careful to let the flakes dry out in the jar, but obviously not careful enough in this case. Plus, flakes smoke well when they're pretty dry - just a little this side of brittle.
On the plus side, I checked the rest of my homemades and they're all in good shape. I've got about 10 jars of it in varying sizes. On the other plus side, the jar I lost was not one of my better ones.
You oughta know not to stand by the window, somebody see you up there.
That really sucks. I list a pound of that wierd Indonesian tobacco tumbolakabubu stuff. I probably would not have liked it anyway but still sucked. I should have known as it was pretty wet. Makes me want to check my SG FVF as it was a little wet but so was my stuff from 3 yrs ago and it is aging great. Plume....not mold....sparkles....not soft n fuzzy

Heat increases the possibility of mold but even under optimal conditions it happens. Sorry for you loss (within context ).
