Cigar: Romeo y Julieta 1875 Bully

Prelight: The 1875 has a light, milk-chocolate colored wrapper which has nearly no veins and a faint woody aroma to it. The foot smells a little like cocoa, and paper as well. I use a punch to cut through the nicely made cap, and the cold draw, while nice in pull, tastes more like paper.

1/3: Very slight pepper and just a hint of chocolate is noticeable at the onset. Soon, an extremely floral taste takes over, and then some cream is added. It is quite pleasant. The flavors ebb a bit into a mild body as a woodiness takes over the floral taste and the first third ends being woody, creamy, and a bit chocolaty.

2/3: The chocolate fades and I am left with wood and cream flavors. There seems to be a slight vegetal taste as well. There is one side that is having issues burning so I touch it up. At the end of the second third there is a little citrus note.

3/3: The final third is pretty much the same as the second: wood and cream, slight vegetal, one side doesn’t want to burn.
Overall: Not a bad cigar. Very inoffensive. This is probably the cigar that got me going in this hobby (unbeknownst to me). This is the one I would pick up for bachelor parties and the like. It still has a pleasing taste to me and although the burn gave me issues, I generally have no problem with them. Being on the cheaper side of the “Big Names”, it’s definitely worth a try if you’re in the mood for something tasty, but on the mild side.
To smoke is human; to smoke cigars, divine.
