Question about labeling of Dunhill Deluxe Navy Rolls

So P&C has a decent sale going on and I picked up a tin of Dunhill Deluxe Navy Rolls. I love Vapers and have heard great things about it.

I have a quick question regarding the labeling.

My tin says "Dunhill Navy Rolls". It does not say "Deluxe". I am certain this is the same tobacco, but does anyone know when the labeling changed?

Do I have an older tin or a newer tin?

Anyone know?

Paul, follow the link for dating recent Dunhill Tins. Unless its older than 2010 this will tell you exactly when it was tinned. I don't smoke anywhere enough to tell if it's and old tin, new, or just a mistake.

It looks like I have a really new tin.
It was produced in July of this year according to the dating in the link.

I guess they just changed the label. I doubt they changed the actual blend though.

I have some tins cellared Sept., 2012, labeled DE LUXE NAVY ROLLS. Well, there goes another lovely old acronym: DLNR. I wonder why they changed the name…

Someone on another forum speculates that it's of conform to new EU rules, one of which is that manufacturers can't manke claims of quality, I.e. that a product is "deluxe.". Similar to the rule that led them to change light flake to simply flake.

We'll have to watch to see if ESCUDO NAVY DE LUXE becomes ESCUDO NAVY.

Edit: The UK was wise to leave the EU with its convoluted bureaucracy.

The UK is pretty good at bureaucracy and regulating tobacco and packaging and kinds of other stuff all by themselves. They just don't like other peoples' bureaucracy, even when it coincides with their own.

Tell that to those whose lives and careers hang in the balance, and who have been the targets of bigoted violence and abuse. The financial sky hasn't fallen yet, true, but they haven't left yet. More than 3 months on and the government still has no idea how to carry it through or even what they want out of the deal.
