    Is pipe 'baccy like cigars?!?!?!

Can pipe tobacco be rehydrated & still have the original flavor & scent?

I was bombed some Stokkebe that I left in the ziplock bag & forgot about since I don't pipe often. Hoping I can salvage it!

You can rehydrate pipe tobacco, and most of the time it will restore pretty well. Use distilled water rather than tap water, as that will have the least effect on the flavor. I put the tobacco in a bowl, give it a light spritz or two from a spray bottle, mix it up and jar it to give the moisture time to spread evenly. It takes very little, since pipe tobacco requires a lower moisture than cigars.

    What Christopher said.

I've done this with some ancient tobaccos I've bought on e-bay. Tends to work, but of course since I wasn't smoking a pipe in the 60's and 70's, hard to say if it's a perfect restoration.

I've taken a damp piece of paper towel and closed the lid of a jar on it. Come back every could days to rehydrate and mix up the tobacco. Seemed to work good for me.
