Going to visit several pipe shops in the Northeast this coming week. Pretty stoked!

Going on vacation with the wife and kiddo, starting after work tomorrow.
Going to go to Washington DC, New Haven CT and NYC. Very excited about some pipe and tobacco shops along the way.

I will be visiting Georgetown Tobacco in DC, Nat Sherman in NYC and the Owl Shop in New Haven.

Anybody here been to any of those? I'm like a kid and Christmas is coming up.

Also will be hitting up flea markets and antique shops in CT with an eye out for pipe related stuff.

Sounds like a fun treasure hunt! Whenever I travel, I look for pipe/cigar shops if I have time. Never looked for them in the NE states; I haven't been up that way for 20 years or so. Went to DC in 1996 for an EPA training that lasted a week; didn't have time to look for pipe shops but did get to see most of the monuments and the White House.

What else you gonna do besides look for smoke shops? I'd like to visit Iwan Ries.

Oh, we'll do a lot of the usual tourist stuff.
We are packing a lot of stuff in a short amount of time, so we won't get to do everything.

Going to the Smithsonian Museum of American History in DC as well as the Vietnam memorial. We'll likely hit up a monument or two I imagine.
In NYC we're going to be staying a night in Times Square and only spending two days there. We're going to Liberty Island and Ellis Island. The wife wants to go to Central Park of course. My daughter and I are both science nerds so we will likely visit the Hayden Planitarium.
The few days we will spend in Connecticut and Vermont will be more relaxed, antiquing and spending time with family there. May go find a lighthouse or two around New Haven.

Well, let me just tell you, Georgetown Tobacco and Nat Sherman are both fantastic.
Awesome places. I was a little concerned because I don't get out of the south very much and didn't know what to expect from the people. I may as well have been back home in Arkansas. The people were so nice and helpful.

And in DC there is no extra tax on pipe tobacco and cigars so prices are similar to online. It was amazing.

In New Haven now about to go to dinner, then the guys are headed to the Owl Shop while the girls do their thing.
