I think I got a really good deal at the flea market today!

Well, I've been checking out some flea markets for some pipes and I've picked up a few for pretty cheap. Today, I got what I think is my first really good deal.

It is a Peterson Shamrock. It is beautiful and in excellent condition. The marking says, "Made in Ireland" in block letters which puts the date of manufacture between 1947-1949 (according to an online source). I can't believe it is in such good condition.
I paid a whopping $20 for this pipe. Did I get as good a deal as I think I did?

I could go the rest of my life without buying another pipe. Had I seen that pipe for that price, I'd bought it too.

Thanks guys. I'm new to pipes but I know Peterson is a well known brand so I figured I couldn't go wrong for 20 bucks.

They really didn't have a clue what was what because they had a Kaywoodie that was in terrible shape for the same price. The stem was so loose it would barely stay in the bowl. They also had a MM cob that they wanted $10 for. The same one you can get at Walgreens for $6.

So they didn't have a clue about pipes. The lady said she gets them from time to time, so needless to say I'll be checking back.

Great bargain! I'm not a fan of the P-lip stem, but the cross grain is very striking. Sanitize and enjoy!
