Would anybody be interested in a Piper Fantasy Football league?

The cigar side has a couple of fantasy football games going and I was too late to get in on either of them, so I thought I'd see if there would be any interest on this side.

I know it's a little late, but I think we could do it.

I would be willing to be league commissioner (unless someone else wanted to be) and set everything up.
I've always played on ESPN so that would be easy to set up.

We could do a 3 tin buy in (paid to the winners at the end of the season).

Let me know what y'all think. 10 teams would be ideal but we could do it with 8 as well.

I decided to warm up with an NFL.Com Mock Draft, 8 teams as I expect we'll be. I did an auction format because I like it better. I let the young guys gun it out while I waited and this is the team that I drafted for only $103 of my $200 bankroll. How did I do? Oh, and this is also a bump.

There were only 2 of us with any money left but I managed to sucker him into paying $42 for LeSean McCoy and $32 for Justin Forsett and then he was close to tapped out. Fun, but not very realistic. Roster's deep but byes are a bit of a problem and no players to drop easily.

This auction was all too easy. I nominated Stewart before McCoy and Forsett and didn't expect or really want him but at $1 I'll take him. Surprising because there was a little money left but no one bid . I agree on Ben.

Yes, snake draft.
No changes. I don't like it when FF scoring gets too intricate. It's fun just doing it the with the most common scoring IMO.

Pardons if you already know this but I'll explain:

A Snake auction means that you pick players in a round-robin so that everyone can get quality players. It's much like the way that the NFL draft is conducted with the exception that the picking order 'snakes' as I'll illustrate (for an 8 team league). This continues for all of the rounds of the draft. You don't need to know a lot about players and football because the software guides you through the draft.

Round 1, pick 1 next pick in round 2, pick 16
Round 1, pick 2 next pick in round 2, pick 15
Round 1, pick 3 next pick in round 2, pick 14
Round 1, pick 4 next pick in round 2, pick 13
Round 1, pick 5 next pick in round 2, pick 12
Round 1, pick 6 next pick in round 2, pick 11
Round 1, pick 7 next pick in round 2, pick 10
Round 1, pick 8 next pick in round 2, pick 9

in successive rounds of the draft the order flips. It's a very fair way of selecting.

Unlike a Baseball league, Football leagues take as little as a few minutes a week to manage before the games are played. Of course you could sweat the details if you like and obsess over it if that's your preference .
