Howdy
Hi everyone, just wanted to introduce myself.
I've been smoking in earnest since 2013, when I bought my first cigars from a local smoke shop with a humidor. Anyway, I took to it right from the start, smoked two in the first evening and got horrifically sick. But I was back in the saddle a couple of days later (even finishing up the re-lit nub of a La Gloria Cubana that did me in a few days prior-- bitter but I couldn't waste it) and I've been off and on with cigars every since-- mostly off, for financial reasons, and because I took to the pipe about 6 months after (which has been a heck of a lot cheaper).
My first experience with the pipe was a corn cob scoop filled with Sir Walter Raleigh, every day on a road trip for about 3 weeks. After that, it really took off. I smoke mostly cobs with aftermarket stems, but I have a few briars that I favor the odd blend in. I have enjoyed blends within every major genre of pipe tobacco I've tried so far, aromatic, English/Balkan/Latakia, Virginia, VaPer, Burley blends, and even Lakelands (Ennerdale is lovely I think).
I also take the occasional pinch of nasal snuff, but it's not a regular thing for me. I like the floral English snuffs, Fribourg and Treyer morocco is quite nice and complex in the nose.
Also a big drinker of strong black teas, Harney & sons East Frisian and Scottish Morn being some favorites, I also drink a self blend of about 75% CTC Assam and 25% Lapsang souchong, for a heavy, smokey and caffeine charged brew.
Anyway, I look forward to acquainting myself with you all and learning more about the wonderful leaf that we all share an interest in.
