Is the seal on Hearth & Home 14 oz tubs sufficient for long term storage?

Just wondering has had any experience with these tubs and the factory seal. I'm just wanting them to keep for 2-4 years. Should I just jar it up?

I've not had any experience with it, but there's no way I'd trust that flimsy layer of plastic for 4 years.
Check out my Youtube channel, Razorback Piper Guy if you like that sort of thing.

When I bought out a bunch of the discontinued Middleton tubs, I made sure to transfer them into jars. That seal is hardly airtight, in my experience.

Thanks, that was my gut reaction when I saw the layer.

I was once told that if you can smell the tobacco through the seal, the seal is not airtight. I would jar it up just on principle anyway.

Jar it. That seal is good only in the short term.
