Inventory
Does anyone else get overwhelmed with taking inventory? It seems like I do so much trading/passing etc that my inventory is way off. I need to pull everything out and do a full inventory. I have so many sticks that I don't know exactly what they are to take a legit inventory. In my virtual hunidor I have several sticks labeled as a generic blend. I am bad at this!
Anyone else have this problem, or is it just me?

Nope. I gave up keeping up a while ago. Haven't entered my new acquisitions in months nor have I removed sticks as I've smoked them or passed 'em out.
My "inventory" is probably only about 50% accurate.
I'd rather spend my time doing other things; like smoking!

I use a spreadsheet and manage to keep it fairly accurate.
Put in new as they come in and just deduct when I pull out to smoke.
That way I can keep track of who gave me what and give some credit when burning them
Even log the price I got them at for future reference
It's not that tough Brent - oh wait, I've seen the amount of cigars you are buying and I understand now
No cigar until you get a par - birdie if it's a scramble !

I had this problem for a long time until I started my spread sheet 6 years ago. Now I see I need to add more information like you have such as who its from, who I bombed it to, and how much I paid.
Never paid attention till a few weeks ago when updating the spread sheet in 6 years I have tried or brought in almost 500 different sticks and smoked at least one of every one of those. HOLY CRAP Ive been doing this for 30 years, wonder how many I have really tried in that time?

Bummin' Around
I'm all for being organized but For NC's I just look them up on CI before or while smoking them if I'm not familiar with them. Way easier this way. All that info is out there anyway. Its a lot of work jotting it all down. If a special cigar survives a while I usually make a tiny cedar placecard with the year purchased on it and set it by it, and done.

Gave up on keeping track a long time ago. Now I just try rotate the bottom to the top once or twice a year so stuff doesn't stay buried away.

I have to inventory them for work. For my own personal use I just put them away and am able to remember when I got them and from where. I think I have over 2k sticks now give or take.
