Youngin's , take note!

In 1987 I set up an IRA for my wife and she made the (then) maximum contribution of $2,000 for the 1986 tax year.

My wife's been an RN and NP for over 25 years but in 1987 and 1988 she used an IRA rather than her work 403b account because we weren't sure that we could afford the regular deductions.

We move to my current house in August 1989 and never changed the address on these two accounts. The first was forgotten and the second's existence was forgotten.

Today, I went to a Fidelity office to put a few bucks into her know IRA when the representative asked which account I wanted to put the money into.

"Say What?"

Tonight we called Fidelity and although it was hard to gain access, (we didn't know any of the investments in the accounts), but we persevered.

Holy Shit!

Not life changing money but man am I going to sleep good tonight! I spent $500 on tobacco in the past two days (and felt like a criminal) and now I may go back and buy some more!

The moral for the youngin's is, keep the money in something that has a chance to go up because time will go by and you may just find some accounts that you forgot about and then you can buy many kilos of weed.

With respect, she probably knows more about pipes and cigars that most guys. She used to let me smoke in the house and she never nags about my smoking, just everything else.

Honestly, if she is married to you then I wouldn't question her pipe or tobacco knowledge at all.

My guess is that if you took someone who never smoked a thing in their life in the same room as you, that at some point osmosis would take affect and they would have some new found knowledge

I'm chuckling because you're kinda right. We met over Dunhill Menthol cigarettes.
She was a Kool smoker, I told her that the Dunhills were better and then I had to sell them to her at cost because she couldn't afford the difference. She worked the store for years too.
