Prelight: The Cameroon wrapper is slightly mottled with darker spots, but has a nice sheen and is smooth and relatively vein-free. The wrapper smell is extremely floral. The foot smells similar but with some added cocoa, and the cold draw is pure floral goodness. After a straight cut, the cold draw is right where I like it; not too tight, not too loose.



1/3: There is some black pepper starting off the cigar, but it isn’t what I would call spicy. There is a nice note of cream backing it up. Part-way through the first third, a woodiness and earthiness is added to the flavor profile and the pepper begins to fade. At the transition, I am getting a nice, woody cream.



2/3: Still creamy woody in the second third, but earth begins to ramp up. Then the cream begins to fade, making room for the earth and wood to dominate. The ash is near-perfect, as well as the burn.



3/3: There now seems to be some leather being added to the flavor party. The final third never gets too hot or bitter. I nub this stick with wood, earth and leather.

Overall: Pretty much a perfect cigar for the price. Has a stereotypical Dominican profile, and perfect construction. A fiver of these is a staple in the ol’ wineador. The size is great for when you don’t want to spend 2 hours on a smoke and allows the little bit of spice the Cameroon wrapper has to offer stand out. This is a great introduction to the Fuente line.
