March Madness Contest?!

The First Annual Cigar Bum Piper's Bracket Challenge!

I know that there is already a March Madness contest going on the cigar side of the forum, so I thought, "why not set one up on this side for the piper's on here too!"

The rules are really simple:

1. Post here if you want to join up! Sign up deadline will be March 19th by 9am EST!

2. I have set up a Tourney Pick'em on Yahoo sports. Once you sign up here, I will PM you the invitation link as well as the password to get in.

3. To keep it simple for everyone, I have decided to just keep it with standard scoring this year: Yahoo! Default (1-2-4-8-16-32) - Traditional scoring system with a heavier weighting on picks in later rounds.

4. Entry fee is 1 50g tin of tobacco or 2ish oz of bulk tobacco. Lets try to keep it "premium" varieties. No Captain Black, Carter Hall, Prince Albert etc.

5. Maximum bracket entries will be 3. Just know that each bracket equals another entry fee. No pressure to do more than 1.

6. Pay out percentages will depend on how many people we get. I would like to have at least 10 people for a 70/20/10 split between 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.

7. The end of the Tournament is April 6. I will have the results and the winner's information out no later than the 8th and would expect everyone too have the winner's goods out and shipped no later than the 15th.


Once Selection Sunday is over (March 15th) you will be able to fill out your brackets. All brackets must be completed by 11 EST March 19th.

Alright! Now with that out of the way, let's get ready for March Madness People!

Excellent, I'll start working on setting up the pool tonight. I am thinking just standard scoring bracket (that keeps it simple for guys that just want to play for fun). If we can get 10 guys we can split up the winnings. The more the better! I'll edit the rules and what not into the OP of this thread tonight.
