Covid19 Changes With Orders Received?
Hi folks,
Sitting here enjoying a Undercrown Maduro, and putting an order together and remembered I had been wanting to ask this.
Boxes usually come in a sealed wrapper, so I typically just take the box out of that then place it in the humi. My thoughts on single/fivers, etc.. I’m still not sure about. I have thought about taking the cellophane off any sticks that someone might have touched, while collecting an order and whatnot. Then part of me thinks that’s not really needed.
I was just wondering if you Guys have adopted any temporary new procedures for incoming orders, along these lines or just doing same as usual?
Hope your all having a good Monday!

Had many 5ers delivered over the past couple weeks. Been on an auction binge!!
I’ll open the boxes outside with gloves and discard into the recycling bin. The packs themselves have been lightly sprayed with Lysol (the outer packing plastics) NOT the actual cello. Then placing the now single stogies in my Wineador.

Just received 2 fivers today.Had thought about incoming packages before but just opened box but I usually use hand sanitizer when coming back in house from outside. Opened one fiver that was wrapped in sticky plastic and three away. after reading this went back and wiped down the other unopened fiver bag. After trying to be so careful hope my smokes don't kill me

All my packages are opened in my garage with gloves. I also remove the plastic wrapper from around the box and let the box sit in my garage for a day or two. So far I've been lucky that all my singles have been in cellos, so I have my son help me pull them out of the cello. I also let them sit for a day or two.

I just open the 5er or singles and place them in a new baggie and they go in my tupperdore--and then wash my hands of course. It's important that the cardboard doesn't hang around the house, tho. Supposedly the virus survives on cardboard better than other surfaces--so it's right into the recycling bin followed by a thorough scrubbing of the hands.
As far as the cigars, the virus can only survive for a few days on its own, and I have a strict three-month resting policy, so I'm not too worried about it.
I have been purchasing from my B&M a bit more just to give them some business. I squeeze the cigar out of the cello like a popsicle so I don't touch the actual wrapper. I then discard the cello and then wash my hands before smoking.
Remember all those crazy stories your parents/grandparents told you about the dust bowl? We're living it, folks.

Nothing in nothing out we’re dealing with a virus they have no cure for. Oh but hot water and soap will kill it on contact. Welcome to the twilight zone!

Not the twilight zone...it's just basic science. Soap breaks down the cell structures of viruses and bacteria, therefore killing them. It's the reason we all wash our hands to begin with. It's why we wash our hands after touching raw meat or picking up dog poop in the backyard. But, once a virus or bacteria enters your system, you can't wash your insides out. There's no cure for influenza or salmonella, either. But you can reduce your likelihood of getting it by washing your hands frequently.

I think for the time being I’m going to continue what I have been doing, taking boxes out of their wrappers before going to sleep in the humi. For singles and fivers (I don’t normally take them out of the cellophane) However I believe I will temporarily start taking them out of it before going in the humi. Those sticks that come without cello, I can set up in a quarantine Tupperdore for a time before going into the humi.
Glad to know what others are doing.

On the plus side we’ve got our fellow Americans washing their hands and wiping their butts, it’s a step in the right direction.
