Are you picky or not, when it comes to cigars?

With most things in life, I find that I'm not very picky. Food, music, alcohol, drugs, women... if something is "not bad," it's usually good enough for me.

But what's strange about cigars is that there are only a few I really, really like.. and the rest I absolutely cannot stand. Which means that there are maybe 8-10 different cigars I will smoke, and about 400 I won't.

That's not to say that I won't experiment with ones I've never tried. But 9 out of 10 new sticks I smoke, I put out within 5-10 minutes because I simply hate them. And there's really no rhyme or reason to what I like or hate; there's no way to tell beforehand.

    So which are you:

    - Like only a few
    - Like most that you try

I am pretty picky I must say.

There are only a few cigars that I consider good enough to keep on hand. Other than that, I don't bother buying anything else really.

Depends on who is buying. What I'll spend my own money on is very different than what I will smoke and enjoy if they come from others.

I probably like 400 and dislike 8 lol. I just love cigars, some much more than others, but it's gotta be pretty foul for me to drop it after 5-10 minutes. There are plenty I will never spend my time with again, but that doesn't mean I hated smoking them.

I'm not too sure how to answer. On one hand I will try any cigar (except maybe flavored), unless it's horrid I always try to finish it incase it surprises me. When I got back into cigars several years ago I bout anything and everything to see what I would like. Now, I'm a lot more selective about what I buy and what smoke. There are a lot more cigars that I like or I think aren't bad but don't buy. I get very little time to enjoy a cigar so I try to just buy the cigars I think are excellent.

I'm very specific when it comes to preferences but usually enjoy most things. With cigars, I tend to enjoy about half of what I try, but even those that I do enjoy, find myself missing one from my favorite dozen or so.

I have only been actively smoking cigars about 18 months and the first year I smoked lots of different brands. Most I could enjoy enough to smoke, but there weren't many that I liked enough to buy and want to smoke again.

I would consider myself pretty picky at this point, but still try cigars I have never smoked. Most are just ok.

I have the leaning to try ones that other people recommend that my profile lines up with and ignoring the ones they don't like.
Meaning...those that have a similar liking I listen to. They haven't steered me wrong yet.

I have to agree with @piperdown ,I listen to those who seem to have a similar taste,But I will look for those hidden gems on the bottom shelf.
