Been about five years since my last post, so I guess I can start here again.
So, to put things simply.. I was here when CB first came around after the migration from the previous home forum to a lot of the original members. (Not sure the rules regarding mentioning, so just easier to not.) Around that time I kind of started to fade a way a bit, and ultimately left the forums (both) all together due to time, interests, family and all of the combinations that come from those things. Can say I haven't really smoked a cigar since that time frame either.
Been browsing about a bit, and been getting the itch lately. Have started smoking a few "cigars" at work during some break times, machine made cheapies because of time constraints. However, I happen to have all of the cigars from my previous time still sitting about. Thinking about breaking back into those..They all have a good minimum of five years on them now. They were rarely fussed with, kept in the has been rock steady for going on six year wine cooler with bovedas that have been recharged as needed. (Though they do need to be replaced, even recharging leaves some crystallization in the corners. Any good deals on cheap 62-65% boveda packs anyone know of?)
Back then, and would still be I am assuming...Tatuaje was my go to favorite. DE Nica Rustica was a big hitter for me. I missed the last release size and would like a couple of the smallest version to sample out. I guess I enjoyed hunting the "boutiques" back then too, that have seemingly become more main stream as certain websites and companies grew, expanded, and bought up brands to roll into one business. (Looking at CigarFed here.)
I'd like to hear everyones recommendations of some new cigars to come out since around 2015. I've always fancied lancers, petites and the like. Smaller ring gauges, length varies. I don't really go anything over a 52.. 54 pushing it if it's the smallest and was something I really wanted to try.
Without making this too long, anyone feel free to shoot me some recommends on newer brands/sticks.. I'm open to trading occasionally. I have a container full of Tatuajes, still have the original release Tat Lanceros in the cedar box, unspoiled cept for cracking the box open just slightly to allow a bit more circulation. Container full of some cheaper easy burn sticks I found I enjoyed, some Drew Estate's of old, a few random other little things. So, show me how the world of cigars has evolved in the last five or so years. I do recognize some of the names browsing around, which is great. I was kind of looking through the WTS/WTB forums and didn't see a whole lot of interaction, so hopefully maybe I just missed it and that part of everything hasn't died out while I've been away.

Well now, looky what that damn cat dragged in this time. Welcome back Michael, good to see your name on a post again. I might still have a stick or 2 that you sent me in my wineador !
As to the smaller cigars, Pete has come out with a few you should try. L'Atelier Travailleurs and in the Surrogates line Cracker Crumbs are both great little 4.5 x 38 smokes that come in soft pack fivers. Pete also rolled out a small size of Tattoo that you should like. Crowned Heads has a few of their lines available in a small size and Swisher Liga has released all your favorite Liga blends in tin sizes.
Overall there has been a little push for some smaller rings since you've been on vacation. Seeing a few more 42's and 44's popping up than in the past when everything was headed towards 60's. More 5x42 and they still all are making the 5.5 ish by 46 or 48 corona / corona gorda which is still my favorite size.
I can send you the L'Ats and a few others to sample - your address still the same ?
Good to see a blast from the past come back to the circus ! Maybe
@jp1979
or
@AuTechCoM
will show up next and shock the Bum world.......
No cigar until you get a par - birdie if it's a scramble !

DREZ!!!!!!!! We were just talking about you a couple of weeks ago. Brent/Horseshoe and I were talking about Boveda packs and were reminiscing about you. So glad you're back!
From my perspective, Tatuaje is still the tits! RoMa Craft has really taken the cigar world over too it seems, although with quite a few less offerings than Tatuaje. Another you may like is from Drew Estate called Kentucky Fire Cured (since you like the Nica Rustica). The KFC is unlike anything I've smoked - it has an intense fire/smokey taste to it. Not something I can smoke all the time, but I like it when I'm eating a burger or something meaty. They also have a candela version called Swamp Rat or Swamp Thang. The candela really tames the smoke.
So glad to see you back!

I've been browsing a bit. Saw the Cracker Crumbs on a review and they look interesting. Also saw the tins of some of the Ligas over on Famous. They had them on sale for 9.99.. Maybe I'll see if it is still listing that today and give one a try.
That'd be pretty damn awesome of you, but the address is changed. However, the profile was updated when I started browsing around so that is current. Or I can message it if it can't be seen that way anymore.

Hey what's going on! Yeah, the Boveda man..I still say the best thing there is to use. It's so easy.. I know I probably came off as a big shill for them back then but they are great, and they were so generous with helping me hand some out. Still have my original ones, and they are still holding great..Just think it'd be good to give them a rest and replace them by now! Not sure I would've ventured as far had I had to keep trying to fiddle with humidity levels the old fashioned way.
I had some of the KFC back then..I still have some of the "Kyotos" 5.5x34 Pantela's in my latakia/fire cured box. Also have some good old Spectre's by AJ Fernandex. Browsing around I can't see that those are available any longer. Open that tupperware up and it's like liquid smoke filling the air, ha.

@Drez
Michael I can't say that I've noticed much in the WTB/WTS/WTT very much since inception of the Bum. But if you're brave enough, venture on over to the MAW thread, throw your hat in and be AMAZED at what will come your way!
And believe it or not, you've already done two of the things necessary to get going again:
1 - mention that there's something that you're interested in
2 - have an updated address available
Now the most important thing to do is go out and fortify your mailbox!!!
Oh! And warn your mailman that there may be some dangerous materials coming in the mail in the near future.
Glad to see a returning BOTL. Welcome back to the rabbit hole.
