Nice job, did you roll those yourself? :)
How's the draw on those. I've heard bad things...
Here's my latest batch - still trying to get the hang of doing perfectos.

Well, .. I did have to do a tuck and roll after tripping on them. so, they rolled me. not sure if that counts but, I don't think the draw poker's gonna help on those.
I think I've posted these enough now..

Love it
Marc... Those sticks look amazing. Someday, with enough practice, I hope to be able to roll a stogie that could hold a candle to those.

Mostly CT Broadleaf wrappers; a few Ecuador Shade, and a few Cameroon. Not my best looking batch - the CT broadleaf is not pretty, but it sure has a nice flavor.
Brohiba! looking good!
Those look fab, Bruck. Do you roll with whole leaf you buy, or do you grow your own? One of my goals in life is to roll some of my own cigars with self grown tobacco. I've grown tobacco a few times before, but only a couple of virginia varieties for the pipe. If I could roll as good as those you've shown, I would be really happy with myself!
Tnx vm! I buy whole leaves from various suppliers, happy to point you in their direction if you're interested. No, I don't grow my own, maybe if I move to a place with actual dirt someday.... :) A friend of mine who's a big time backyard gardener offered to grow some, but upon looking into it, it just wasn't worth it with the small quantities we'd be able to make, particularly when I can get decent already-cured and fermented leaves for $12-25/# (a pound gets you abt 30 cigars on the average).
As far as rolling well, I'm a piker compared to some on this and some other forums I've been on. What you're looking at is my #291-307. My first 20 or so were absolutely awful looking, but like anything you get better with experience.
Good to see you're still at it! (it's an addiction)
I've also discovered the delights of both CT and PA broadleaf. The PA oscuro maduro wrapper is also excellent value.
Here's my latest 'box press' efforts using an inexpensive home made press...

Greetings. Nice to meet you. Some familiar faces here. I keep finding you guys hither and yon. Good!
There are tons of pics of my sticks at my blog, blisscigar.co.

Rolled last night, Nic filler, CT Shade and Broadleaf wrapper... theyre gifts for somebody who helped me out recently...
Woot!
Haha, hey waikiki! good to see u on both forums...
Rolled this thing a week ago, it was excellent today. Pa oscuro wrapper (LO), Domican binder (WLT), Honduran seco filler (LO).
Sounds mild-medium, and it was. Lovely chocolate that went great with a creme de menthe and soda on ice on this warm summer afternoon.

Yum!
How do you like that PA Oscuro? Is it very different from CT Broadlead? For me broadleaf is musty, with light chocolate, and especially with certain leaves, lots of sweetness.
Nice work fellas! Artists, I would say. I want to try it but looks pretty hard! I dont have alot of patience lol, and I think the boss would kill me cause I just got into the pipe and cigat world just recently. There any sites to check out for tihs?
I love it. It's like 20 bucks for a ton of yummy chocolate wrapper. How can you go wrong? As for CT Broadleaf, I've only used the "MED", not the maduro. I like it but I don't have a solid feeling yet on what it brings to the mix other than general strength and some pepper. I need more aging on my CT Broadleaf sticks, more experience. But I've been rolling with the PA for 6+ months and consider an essential part of my kit. Plus, at LO they seem to imply that the DARK CT Broad is thicker than the PO oscuro, which is already thick. IMHO the thinner the better when it comes to wrapper.
Anyway it's one wrapper that I unequivocally consider essential.
cbr310, on the one hand you could pitch her the fact that home-rolled sticks cost $1.50 each instead of $6-$13, so it's a huge savings, long-term.
OTOH you totally need patience so it might not be your cup of tea.
There are tons of resources like youtube and fairtradetobacco.com. I also have made a few videos demonstrating some of the basic processes:

Best of luck!
What @waikikigun said plus a couple of the online whole leaf distributors sell blending assortments and molds for pretty reasonable prices.
I keep track of my cigar rolling in excruciating detail - I've rolled 307 cigars, with a variable cost of $1.38 per stick, and a total cost of $2.12 per. The downside is, I have given more than half of them away :)
ALCON: I just posted a thread in the Marketplace section on a good place to get whole leaf:
http://www.cigarbum.com/forum/manufa...leaf-4714.html
The PA Oscuro is PA broadleaf so the differences compared to CT broadleaf are very slight. If I had to nitpick I'd say the CT is bit more oaky and mossy and has thicker veins. If you enjoy broadleaf I'm sure you'll like it and I wouldn't be surprised if you couldn't tell the difference.
FWIW My experience has been with using WLT PA Oscuro and LO DW1 CT broad
@HIM Ever roll your own CT BL puro?
Rolled another batch of Brohibas this weekend. Behold Batch 27:

Sizes range from 3.5" to 7". RG =~48 for most of them; some are 52.
Wrappers are all Cameroon. It's a great wrapper to work with, but a little delicate, and the leaves are a bit small, so it's hard to wrap the bigger sticks with one piece.
Binders are all "one sucker" (dark air) from a grower in KY. One sucker has good flavor and is very strong, but not real smooth, so it wouldn't make a good wrapper, at least not aesthetically.
Fillers are a lot of experiments. I got some samples of various things from the KY grower incl. "Havana," "Silver River," and "Dark Air," which I blended in various quantites along with my usual blends. Silver River makes a good pipe tobacco, so its use in cigars is, well, experimental.
A new tin on the cheap.http://fairtradetobacco.com/attachme...7&d=1446322240
Mata Fina and San Vicenta core, Piloto Cubano viso/saco, W/ US Connecticut binder and Habano 2000 wrapper.
