For my birthday the end of January, the wife bought me the fixins for my small winedor build. Newair 121E (12 bottle size), and pieces of spanish cedar and some dowels to make my shelves with. Yes, I know its smaller than everyone else goes with, but I don't smoke constantly, so a couple hundred sticks resting is more than enough for me...:stogie:

I finished it up over the weekend, and am currently getting it seasoned and ready for occupation. I will be using about 10 65% bovedas and have a Caliber IV hygro attached to one of the drawers.
While I was doing the shelf build, I also cleaned and desmelled the inside of the newair.
That's a good size, about what I would need too, I like it.
Thanks Kendall...You can find these premade with drawers/shelves, but they were all out of stock when I was looking. You can also get the drawers or shelves from Forrest for a good price, but I like to do things myself sometimes.
I'll post final pics afer the seasoning is finished and I have put my cigars in...
I think if I had to do it again, I would use 1/2 inch for the sides front and back, and 1/4 inch for the bottoms. For this I used 3/4 all around. Didn't have SC local that I found, so I had ordered from amazon and what I could get was limited.
Very nice. You did good with the shelves!
If I were doing something like this, I would probably use a pound or two of heartfelt beads rather than the bovedas, just a thought.

Thanks guys...Now I need to make some purchases to fill it up...I only have about 50-some odd currently. I believe some CC's will be coming soon. I can fit a handful of boxes under the bottom shelf.
Kendall, I would also normally use HF, but I already had some bovedas on hand in my tupperdors so I just grabbed a few more rather than switching it out. It's small enuf that bovedas are just fine. After those are dead and gone, I will probably switch to HF.
Got the seasoning finished and verified as good. Over the weekend got my sticks put into their new home while they wait their turn in line to burn. Here's a few pics of how it turned out.

By chance do you know the internal dimensions of this model?
Thanks David...I actually had to come up with that on the fly. When I got everything in, I discovered that the slot for the drawers were smaller than the 3/4" wood would fit in. I thought about nibbling away at the edges of the wood to fit, but the dowels seemed so much easier to do.Quote:

With the current drawers, I could probably fit 150 or so in them, plus maybe 3 or 4 boxes under the bottom drawer. Most of my sticks are around the robusto size roughly. They do have this wineador on amazon and at some other places with the shelves/drawers already included, but they were out of stock when I was looking...they claimed to hold up to 250 sticks...probably a reasonable estimation for smaller RG sticks.Quote:

@flyfisher2 If she's fine with you smoking, you simply tell her that if you don't get one, the temps get too hot in your area during the summer which will cause a beetle outbreak and/or mold outbreak and ruin hundreds of dollars worth of smokes. You are simply protecting your money by not ruining expensive cigars...:stogie:
That may be one of the "discussion" points! She will smoke an acid occasionally with me so thats cool.
However, she dose not like the amount I keep on hand, she docent quite understand the collecting and resting of the cigars.
Well, it's time she joins the forum then and starts learning from all the well informed folks bumming around here. Before I joined this group at the old forum, I didn't really know the benefits of aging, resting, proper RH and temp. Get her on here and you just might have her won over. Get her in touch with the other women on this forum and she'll get even more comfortable with the addiction.Quote:
