I've seen two beetle holes and both were round, while that one looks more triangular in the pic. Makes me think nail or some other tool, but I'm not sure at all.
If it was me I'd smoke it anyway and keep your good eye on the others it was stored with, just for safety sake.
Thanks, I did end up smoking it but am still curious for my own knowledge how to tell beetle holes from rips.
It doesn't look like beetles to me. The only beetle damage I have seen always has very round holes. Most likely something else like a tear.
Beatle damage is normally round. I do not believe it is a beatle.
According to everyone else in this thread, a beetle hole should be more round...:partygrin:
