Padron 3000 Maduro Burn Time : 1hr 20min
Wrapper : Nic. Maduro
Filler : Nic. long fillers
Prelight : It's got a strong barnyard aroma. Very hard pack, with a thick dark wrapper. Big vein running down the side but other than that solid construction.
1/3 : Chocolate hits me right away as I start this cigar, mostly on the finish. Medium body. Good draw with lots of smoke output. Get toasted nuttiness as well, pepper on my tongue on the finish. Very smooth smoke. Also get a toasty...leather? I've never tasted leather before but I think this cigar has it. Touch for me to tell.
2/3 : I let the cherry get cool between puffs and am rewarded with a sweet chocolate on the draw, very nice. Still think I'm getting touches of leather...also a sweet and sharp cedar comes in. Draw really opens up to huge clouds of smoke. Medium full body and flavors, flavors very distinct.
3/3 : Strength ramps up on this final third, probably up to a medium full. Perfect burn and draw. A strong pepper comes in now. It finishes with lots of the pepper, cedar and a weaker chocolate than the beginning. Very enjoyable and flavorful smoke.
Overall : My first Padron and I really enjoyed it. Not much to say really, it's a Padron and this is kind of what I was expecting. I'm looking forward to trying the natural wrapper, and some of their other blends when I get the chance.
