New Humidor in town

I was sitting in the drive thru at Brahms a couple of days ago and noticed a partial part of a sign on the front of a store across the street that said GARS. And I thought, what else ends in GARS other than CIGARS. So I decided to take a closer look and sure enough it said CIGARS with walk in humidor under that. I walked in and the place was very large with tons of vape stuff along with glass pipes. Along the back wall was a huge walk in humidor. Freakishly big. This thing is approx 15’ x 50’ and was partially stocked. The person working there said they had a ton more cigars coming. I saw a bunch of Padron, My Father etc. I would guess at least 400 boxes. I was really surprised. We have always just had 1 cigar shop and it was very limited selection, although they were a long time Fuente acct. but got their shipments about 6 months after initial distribution.

I didn’t look at prices at the new place because I had ice cream in the car, but it’s nice to see such a humidor in town. I hope they make it.

Glad for a new shop but I am leary going into a vape store for cigars. Always worried what prices and shape they are in.

I hear ya! I have no idea how they are controlling Rh. The kid that was working had zero knowledge of cigars. Hopefully someone there does. But I have quit buying cigars, I still hope they do it right.

Just found a cigar store 2 miles from my house. They opened in January, but due to a mix-up between the property manager and the city, they just recently got their permit to put up the big "Cigars" sign. Stopped in a little while back. They don't have a lot of big name stuff, but the owner is one of the most knowledgeable cigar guys I've come across. Tell him what you like and he'll take you to an obscure brand that tastes danged near the same. He pointed me to the Diesel Vintage maduro, and it was just what I was looking for. His house blends are pretty tasty, too. Buy 5 cigars, get 2 free house blends. Super nice guy. The shop I was going to from time to time is a little farther away, has a great selection, and good prices. But I have never felt welcome there, so I didn't go very often, even if I had the chance.

Girls' day at our house Tuesday. Mike's day at Culebra Cigar Lounge ...

Sadly my most local is 45 min away so very happy to hear you got a good place so close Steve. Selection sounds good and it's probably got great prices. Too bad you don't smoke cigars.... lol

Almost all the tobacco/vape shops here have a good selection of cigars. Though, they don't get the boutique brands and don't have a lounge.

I’m gonna go back this week and look a little closer and see what kind of prices they have. I think the old store may have shut the doors. I drove by there yesterday and there were zero cars on the lot. Not a good sign. He had an employee that ripped him off for over $90k and he was really struggling to keep it running. Sad deal, but at least the 70 year old bitch that ripped him off has been sitting in a cell for over a year.

She managed a secondary store across town for about 5 years and the last 2 she began embezzling not only money, but product. When she was arrested she had a bunch of booze in the trunk and around 20 boxes of cigars in her back seat. He was naive and trusted her I guess. His mom had always been the bookkeeper for the business and she passed away 2-3 years ago. I think after that is when the thefts began. But I’m not sure.
