Lakeland Bum
Sutliff Summer Night
This tobacco is not a ribbon cut; it is a mixture of different cuts with lots of tiny tobacco bits and some leaf stem material. The physical characteristics do not impress me (maybe I got the dregs from a large bulk bag). It requires a moderate amount of air-drying before smoking. I have smoked almost an ounce of this tobacco and have learned how to smoke it without getting tongue bite: let some sit out overnight and smoke it slowly. I can taste the raspberry only after getting to mid-bowl. It burns a little hot and is somewhat hard to keep lit, particularly near the end of the bowl. I got this as part of a customer appreciation pipe kit (grab bag) from PipesandCigars.com. Once you finally get the tobacco to the proper dryness and get it going good, it is not too shabby. Still, I won't be buying more of Summer Night.
Pipe Used: Captain Black, Charatan, Mastercraft, cob
