Well new to pipe smoking but as I found when starting into cigars writing a review, even if just in my little black book, helped me learn to pick things up and remember what to look for and appreciate it more, so I'm going to try throwing together a review on tonight's smoke.

I've now had several bowls of Carter Hall in my cheap little MM Ozark Mountain hardwood so I decided tonight to try one of my aro's that I ordered along with it, McClelland 620 Mocha Black.

I'm no where's near expert enough to tell you what this stuff is made of by sight so from smokingpipes, where I purchased it, it's a ribbon cut black Cavendish I've had about a month.

First off I found, in my limited experience, that the 620 felt a little more moist out of the jar than the CH I've been smoking. It could also be me being very new to pipes but I can't help but wonder if it would have stayed lit better had I let it air/dry a bit before loading the pipe. Nice coffee/mocha smell right from the package.

As far as smoking goes I'm very impressed with the flavor of this stuff. Flavors I picked up were, obviously coffee/mocha, caught some toasted marshmallow/dark chocolate. Imagine drinking a nice cup of coffee while eating a smore and that's about what I got out of it. Nice sweetness but not overbearing. Smoke was pretty decently thick.

Even though I'm having troubles keeping myself at a slow pace I actually get more bite from Carter Hall, and I was pushing this a bit harder trying to save on matches on my relights. Even after the smoke I have a decent coffee after taste and didn't go running for the ice breaker mints.

All in all take my review for what it is, a noobs opinion on the second tobacco product he's burned through his pipe but I'm certain after I get through the rest of the other varieties I ordered with it, I'll be keeping some of this around.
