    LJ Peretti - Park Square

I recently was introduced to this blend at an Austin Pipe Club meeting. A couple visiting from Connecticut stopped by our meeting, brought tobacco samples and some Yankee stories (lol). One of the samples that they brought was LJ Peretti Park Square (http://www.ljperetti.com/l-j-peretti...t/english.html). This is a Virginia/Perique blend, for some reason they list the blend under English blends. We of course have a lot of blends brought by all the members to try but for me this one stood out. I smelt the room note and it smelt absolutely delightful/delicious. So of course I decided to try some. Now I am not they type of person that can break down all aspects of a blend. What I can tell you it was Virginia sweet and the Perique light, damn tasty IMO. By the end of the club meeting a few of us liked it so much that we decided to go in on a group buy, so I purchased 2 oz. Well after receiving and smoking my 2 oz., I fell in love with this blend. I ordered an additional 2 lbs of it. I recommend anyone trying this tobacco, give it the old 2 oz. commitment and I believe that you’ll enjoy it!

Packaging is extremely weak! It comes in a plastic bag that is just spun tight, no fastening of the bag, and then stuffed down in a paint can container! Weaker than a zip locked baggie IMO. And the different oz./lbs. it still comes this way, just different sized paint cans. So I HIGHLY recommend taking the tobacco out of the paint cans and placing them in appropriate canning jars.

Blend description: Red Virginia, matured Virginia and stoved Virginia are delicately spiced with just the right amount of Perique to create a rich and complex blend whose character evolves and emerges through out the bowl.
Pipers will push you down the slippery slope of PAD/TAD! Get out while you can!

I stumbled across a few of there blends in a trade. I have sampled them but haven't given them a fair shake. I will add this one to my list if I ever order from them. The D-9507 was my favorite of the 3 I sampled. Thanks for the heads-up Shawn.

I've have never had any of their blends, but I have read that their Burley's are some of the best you can buy. I have been wanting to try some of them for while now.

    Thanks for the review!
