With Cumberland you get the best of three types of tobaccos with a complementary flavor balance where one component overcomes the weak points of the other components. The end result is a rich, smoky and somewhat sweet smoke. Cumberland has depth and complexity; one can discern the slight sweetness of the Cavendish, the smooth smokiness of the Latakia and the bold backbone of the Burley.
