I’ve had a couple bowls of this, and I’m still not sure what to make of this tobacco. I’m not even sure I like it. I kind of like some english tobaccos, but not sure about this. Penzance does not taste like the Dunhill english tobaccos I am more used to.
The smoke is nice and creamy, and I did not need any relights.
I get a musty, not quite pungent smell from this smoke. There is definitely the smokiness of the latakia, but there is more to it that I can’t identify. I’m not experienced enough to name many flavors from certain types of tobaccos. So, I’m having to guess that some of the subtle flavors I’m unable to pinpoint are from the Orientals.
There is a small amount of sweetness, woodsiness, and other things I can’t identify. Every once and a while I picked up something I can only describe as aluminum.
All in all, I don't think I'm sophisticated enough for this one yet.
