    What to do?

So I just came out of the NST for pipes and now have 16 different samples of tobacco to try. 20150330_201814.jpg

First question: How should I store all of it? I don't have a bunch of mason jars. Can I just put all my pipe tobacco in a tupperdor, or would that cause all the flavors to mingle?

2nd: One of the samples is a twist (rope?), do I cut slivers and rub out/fold & stuff?

I usually cram all my sample baggies into a quart mason jar or a well aired pickle jar. Well not all in one but aromatics in one and non aromatics in another. (I usually don't have that many aros around)

The rope, you cut coins off with a cigar cutter. I've had the best luck immediately cube cutting the coins to about 1/8" with a single edge razor blade and then letting them dry for a few hours - rope and twist is usually pretty wet. You can rub the coins out too; rub them a little when they're wet just to get them to start to break apart, then finish the job when they're approaching smoking level. I don't usually care for straight rope tobacco. Much better IMO to mix it in with something else to stabilize the burn and temper the nicotine.
Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.

Hi Brad! Tupperware or a big mason jar will be fine, but you're going to need mason jars down the road anyway.

As for the rope; sorry 'bout that! The easiest way for me is to cut it with a cigar guillotine cutter into thin coins, then rub it out. If you don't have one handy, let me know; I should have put one of my extras in the bag just in case.

Oh, I definitely have cigar cutters, including the Xikar scissors which I figure would be perfect for cutting the rope. And you did write on the baggie to use a cutter, I just wasn't sure about the technique.

    Glad to see you back!
