Bad lesson but had to learn it

Today I grabbed my pouch of Burley Lite and that neat little Dr Grabow Lark,and loaded her up for combat.As I was filling the bowl I noticed that I had a bit of dottle still in there,but thought to myself "what difference could that little bit make?"Well after getting a mouthfull of ash a having a terrible smoke,I wasn't going to waste a bowlfull of tobacco,I cleaned that sucker right good and proper.Just a pinch of dottle and it sure made a big difference.So today I can honestly say I got Smoked !

I've had that and I've also had it where I did the same thing and it didn't make much difference. Probably depends on the bakk0 and how long it's been sitting in the pipe. Some blends (mostly aromatics) are just foul once they sit a while and you relight them later. Others are still quite tasty. I'd guess the ones that turn foul would be the likely suspects to foul a subsequent bowl. If there's still 1/4 bowl I'll sometimes risk it. If it's just a little pinch of dottle though, I'd tap it out first.

I clean my pipes out 100% after each and every smoke. Any dottle gets dry reamed out as soon as I am done smoking the bowl.

I can't have sour dottle ruining my next bowl! No sir, I can not have that at all!
