    Warped La Hacienda Review

    Cigar: Warped La Hacienda
    Size: Gran Robusto, 5.5"x52
    MSRP: $7.95
    Strength: Medium
    Wrapper: Nicaraguan
    Origin: Nicaragua

Prelight: A true puro, this cigar is Nicaraguan to the core. With invisible seams and minimal veins, it is a great looking stick. There are a few lumps here and there, but feels fairly firm overall. The milk chocolate colored wrapper is floral smelling, with wood and earth and a hint of cocoa coming from the foot. The cap is gorgeous, and after a punch, the resistance is right where I like it and tastes earthy and sweet.

1/3: After toasting, I expect a heavy dose of pepper from this Nicaraguan blend, but am pleasantly surprised when I am greeted by more cream than spice. The spiciness is there, but subdued. The pepper taste picks up a little after about ˝” in, as well as some cedar and citrus flavors. The burn seems pretty good, although it gets a tad lopsided at times. But, it keeps itself in line. Leather joins the party as I transition into the second third.

2/3: Creamy citrus really explodes in the second third, and the pepper, leather and wood also ramp up a bit. The cigar is quite complex and delicious, and the construction is good – not great, but good. The ash is dense, but again the burn line gets off a bit and I touch it up just slightly to stay ahead of it. There is a welling nuttiness that takes a run for the lead flavor…and it succeeds. As I go into the final third, the flavors are nuts, toasted tobacco, wood, and traces of citrus, cream, and maybe even some cocoa and mint.

3/3: The final third sees the natural progression of flavors into fruition as the once creamy, sweet blend is now a powerhouse of wood, nuts and tobacco. Not a bad way to end a cigar, especially one that had such complexity so early on. The nub is a little warmer than I would like, but the burn line has shaped up.

Overall: This could be a favorite of mine in the Warped brand. And, the price point is right where I expect it to be. This particular size is on the bigger size as far as rings go (for me), so I may opt for the Superiores next time. Construction wasn’t flawless, but got the job done, and flavors were right up my alley. Sometimes I shy away from the potential pepper-bombs of Nicaraguan puros, but Warped blended this stick perfectly.

Great review Layne! May have to try a few. Haven't been all that impressed with the Warped line so far.
We're going to need a bigger humidor

I agree with Bill on the great review. But differ in that I have really liked the few Warped I have tried. Picked up a 5er of the new Futuro a couple of days ago but am yet to try one.

Sounds like a winner. I need to try one of these.
