Intro:
IIIIIIIIIIIII'MMMMMMM BBBBBAAACCCCKKKK!
IIIIIIIIIIIII'MMMMMMM BBBBBAAACCCCKKKK IN THE RAILCAR AGAIN!
Confidence Status: Restored and upticking
Nuts Status: Hanging llllllllllloooooooooooowwwwwww
Stickies and rules are a little grey to me...unlike the RED, WHITE, AND BLUE pumping through my veins.., and listen my bums...I don't know what's not appropriate here...but I never intend to offend. Thanks to my bums, Picklin' Pete's Reserva Broadleaf (RB), and my plan of execution to fix recent issues, all I have to say is...I'M BACK. I figured my bums would like a smidge of my energy...and my energy comes in the form of the absurd. We're switching it up a bit here, as I smoked the RB first to kick me up a notch, then come with the hyped review. Also, and just to stay true to...YES...my bums, this review comes a day after smoking.
Pre-Smoke Judgement:
Picked this little pickle to add to the peck of pickled peppers that WAS intended to be enjoyed on my camping trip. I've had a different size of the RB...and I believe it was the pickle that peppered my interest in broadleaf. I'm gonna enjoy it and I NEED a manly cigar to get back on track...and who does it better than Ol' Picklin' PJ?
1/3:
Broadleaf is sharp, but not razor sharp, just grazes the nose on the retrohale. Nice decent little tobacco flavor and bite...at first. CI says medium-full...I says medium...at first. Smooth, but a little rough...just how a MAN likes it initially. I'm thinking back to the DE BOTL, and she's not on that level yet, I believe. But, I like that it's not what I had in mind when comparing to the BOTL. Draw is a little work...BUT I'm a working man.
2/3:
RB Status:
Upticked profile - Check. Getting close to the CI profile, and does around the 1/2 mark.
Tobacco bite uptick - CHECK. This little pickle is picklin' now.
Spice - Check. Can't recall it specifically, but noticed a melding that offered a tasty little upgrade.
Broadleaf uptick - CHECK. Sharpness is becoming more firm.
Enjoyment Level Status - I'm lovin' it.
She's getting closer to my compared BOTL reference, but she's got her own little signature that separates her. Draw picks up either after I worked her, or own her own...I don't know...and honestly...don't care.
3/3:
Fully and on-point now, with CI's medium-plus. Broadleaf is now, not as sharp as the BOTL, but cuts nicely. Tobacco bite and flavor are is the main flavor here. Spice infusion picks up a notch, and tells me there's something new here, that I couldn't put my finger on. Maybe sweetness, but it was hinted and a nice addition. Draw has been superb. I tried my new acquired...but not mastered...skill of purging...and, YES...the above notes came through much clearer.
Trial By Smoke Judgement:
This pickle popped my problems (along with the help recieved here). ENOUGH of the pickle references, now. I thoroughly enjoyed it. MSRP was $8-9, and very much worth it, to me. Definitely want to try the other RB sizes, and am considering buying a box of the Noellas for the price and smoking time, of about 45 mins to an hour, plus I enjoy smaller sticks like this.
