    Tatuaje Miami 10-Year Especiales Review

    Manufacturer: Tatuaje
    Brand: Miami 10-Year Especiales
    Size: 7.5x38
    Cost: $8.00
    Rest Time: 7 Months
    Burn Time: 2:16

Prelight: This Lancero has a firm, dense, even pack and is covered in a chocolate mottled, oily wrapper, including an elegant covered foot. The prelight aroma is cedar, chocolate and prunes. I lop the cap with my Xikar Xi and off we go. Prelight draw is snug with pepper, tin and tobacco flavors.

    1st 3rd:

On first light I get strong wood, pepper and tobacco flavors. Once the Tattoo settles down strong wood flavors mix with sweet and salty tobacco. There is a lush creamy texture to the smoke, with a very subtle salty metallic finish. There is a sweet oily residue on my lips from the cigar.

    2nd 3rd:

The ash breaks of a couple times in a perfect cylinder after 3/4 of an inch. Entering the second third there is a coffee flavored with vanilla and caramel cream. There is some white pepper mid-palate and wood and tobacco on the still mild finish. Overall the smoke is medium bodied, still leaving an oily finish on my lips an tip of the tongue.

    Final 3rd:

In the final third the coffee becomes more prominent and is now more of a black espresso roast without cream. The pepper has amped up a bit and is now more black than white. The caramel and vanilla are gone and strong cedar and leather flavors dominates the finish. The smoke had moved up to a full body with no strength.

    Summary:

The Tat 10-year had a razor sharp burn, needing one relight and one touch up. This was a great cigar, flavor and performance wise holding my interest for the full length of the smoke. I ordered a 5er of the regular Especiales from The Corona Cigar company, but they only had 4 so they included this LE at no additional cost. This cigar is the reason I hate LEs, I waited 7-months to try it and loved it and now they are no longer available. Oh well, I still have the black and red to enjoy on a regular basis and I just got in another 5er of the regular Especials.

Great review of a favorite of mine! My understanding is these are Selection de Cazador (Brown Label) Especiales with a 10th anniversary label slapped on. If so, you should be able to find a box of the brown labels that would smoke as well.
