Tatuaje La Casita Criolla HCR (Robusto)
DARK. Very dark and heavy throughout.
Pepper that doesn't blast, but cuts the nose nicely, and doesn't slighten the DARK, bitter, and heavy punch.
I thought about this stick being similar to a cigar that was filled with a dark roast coffee or espresso. At least I imagined this must be what STRONG and DARK espresso/coffee must taste like if it were smokable.
No Tatuaje signature spice noted.
Old school kinda smoke.
Purist kinda cigar.
There are slight reprieves, in small doses, and it seemed like a sweet bread. Mostly there in the beginning and mid of the retrohale.
Residual is like a gritty, strong, and heavy espresso or dark coffee.
Judgement:
Would've never guessed this was a Tatuaje cigar, had it been unbanded. Not sure where I stand with this stick. It seems like an acquired taste kinda smoke. I never disliked it, but was more shocked that this was nothing like I could've imagined. Very interesting, and quite different. Definitely will revisit, though.20210107_185740.jpg20210107_201552.jpg

That'll be a difficult endeavor, as it isn't being produced anymore. I remember having one of these maybe 5 years ago and not thinking much of it. It's definitely a unique cigar--it's a Connecticut Broadleaf puro. That's probably why it doesn't taste like any other Tat.

That's why I jumped on buying a couple. Figured these were long gone, but was stoked to get to try one. Didn't realize it was straight broadleaf till after reading a couple reviews.
