    Tatuaje Black (Petite Robusto)

    [Review Preview]

    Intro / Pre-Smoke Judgement:

Just purchased a box of these...my first box purchase...and you know I'm a sentimental kinda fella, my bums, so I wanted my first box purchase to be:
    #1 Tatuaje
    #2 A personal game-changer
#3 Some near and dear to my humble, and sweeter-than-pie heart.

Welcome to my #2 of all sticks I've ever tried. My #1 stick under $10. My #1 $8 cigar. My favorite Tatuaje. My favorite as of the past year. And most importantly...my favorite in this moment.

    Intro:

Listen...I'm trying to catch up on a couple days of reviews...which, and lets be honest, my bums, have been utter shit. It's my fault, from the reviews to the issues I've still been encountering. But, as always, I'm attibuting them mostly to the learning curve of this pleasurable hobby. I'm no newbie here to the cigar game, but I've been trying to refine my craft, and am slowly, and maybe surely getting there. I've been overthinking it too much, I believe, working through my humidor blues, and grasping the importance of rest.

The Tatuaje Black will be EXTENSIVELY reviewed within this thread. I've got 19 more to smoke, so that means 19 more reviews to come.

    1/3:

Smooth pepper and spice through the retrohale. To me, it's the best melding I've ever coming across. It's got that signature Tatuaje taste and scent that I've noticed in other Tatuaje sticks. It's also something that I've keenly picked up when smoking other sticks within the same brand - they share a distinct signature that can usually be easily noticed. The spices are complex, not potpourri-ish, and it's hard to say exactly what is tasted - but you know it's a Tatuaje. I had the CAO Black recently, and maybe "Black" is a signature all "Black" cigars share - but I'm not sure. But it did make me think of the CAO Black. Very, very, very smooth. Medium-plus body. Simply superb.

    2/3:

Same body and smoothness. The "Black" spice (common between the CAO & Tat) becomes a little more refined, and harder to say exactly what it is. I just know it seems more complex. Still tasty as ever. The retrohale kinda reminds me of a spice cookie, in a way. Like the ones usually had around Christmas. Can't remember the residual, but we have plenty more review coming. I just remember enjoyment, and that was about an hour and half ago. Tasty. Mmm-fucking-good. Had to let it burn out around the 3/3, because...dinner time responsibities that were put off for the enjoyment. Had a little issue keeping her alive, and hit acouple bitter notes towards the end.

    3/3:

Didn't come back to well. I'm going to let the Tatuaje Blacks sit for at least a week. They came directly from the warehouse...or at least I was told.

    Trial By Smoke Judgement:

Still my #2, and very closely tailing the Padron 1964 Anniversary Maduro. Buy them. Smoke them. Enjoy them. Not gonna go to far into this, because hopefully the extensiveness of the reviews to come will sell you (and annoy you), unless you're already in the know - like you SHOULD be.

I love these in the Petit Lancero size. Such good smokes with a little time to sit.
