    Surrogate Animal Cracker

    Surrogate Animal Cracker
    Gordo 6x60
    Msrp 9.50$
    Medium to Full
    Ecuadorian Habano Wrapper

Now I do want to say I didn't look forward to smoking the animal cracker. It was going to me my first cigar of this size. I paired it with Woodford Reserve Distillers Select. I got floaral notes off both the foot and cold drawl which made me egar to smoke this big boy.

The first third had a nice light earth notes with the floarl notes on the exhale. The smoke was creamy but very light. On the exhale there was a faint pepper and the retrohale was pepper with a touch of earth. The burn did get a little out of hand at the end of the third but there was a slight breeze going so I moved inside and touched up the burn line.

The second third burned awesome with a chewy pepper flavor on the inhale with a touch of coffee and earth on the exhale. I used the Xikar car ash tray all week that I had just bought as most of my smoking time was done in a folding chair and it fit into the cupholder nicely. On a small side note I love this ash tray as it has a spot for a newly lit cigar and a spot for when you get down to a nub. I took this shoot to show the Xikar even holds a 60RG cigar!

The last third (plus some) was really my favorite part of this beast. The chewy pepper went away and a nice creamy chocolate and rich earth took over on the inhale with a very sweet but light coffee on the exhale. The retrohale had sweet pepper and coffee notes.

Overall I actually enjoyed this cigar more than I expected too. I did go in slightly close minded but that opened up when I got the floral notes. Don't hold the uneaven burn to bad construction because once inside it burned razor sharp (sorry I didn't get a picture of the burn line on the second third). This big beast took me 2 hours and 45 minutes to smoke. I will never look at a 6x60 differently again!!

I had one of these a month or so ago and even though a 6 x 60 stick is not my thing, I really enjoyed it. Lots of earthiness and cocoa for me on the palette. A little uncomfortable to hold in my teeth for longer than a few seconds but a nice smoke.
RIP Don DeBusk, I miss you more than you’ll ever know my good friend.

This has become one of my favorites. I truly enjoy how there is a faint sweet taste through the smoke.
