Smoking Jacket (Favoritos)
Not gonna go in-depth with the tastings and flavors. There's lots of other things I have to say about this cigar.
Initial puffs were not very interesting. It opens up a bit slow, but it soon started delivering. There was a nice combo of sweetness, aromaticness and toastiness going on.
I was taking pretty deep pulls during the first third. Around the end of the 1/3, I noticed a bit of a roughness on the end of the retrohale that was throwing off the profile. I thought there was a shift coming, but it never came and I became disappointed. I started sipping, and the roughness was no more.
There were a couple things that came to mind after I slowed down. One, was that the flavors were a bit more pronouned during the deep pulls. Two, was the profile performed much better with the slower approach while barely sipping. Decided to keep it slow because I didn't want the roughness taking over, bit by bit.
This cigar probably had the best construction and draw I've ever come across. I was a bit anxious at first, when slowing down, but the cigar performed very well at much slower than usual speed. Very generous smoke production during the light sips reinforced my decision.
Medium bodied, and mild+ to medium flavored. Not peppery. A very relaxing smoking experience overall, and one that really requires you to SLOW down. The aromaticness of it is a bit fruity and floral, and reminded me of Privada's Red Laugh (Elmo cigar).
2 hour or so smoke time. Probably would've been longer had I slowed down during the first 1/3.
Judgment:
Great cigar, and one that I'm sure will be enjoyed much more on my next encounter. I believe this is my first KBF (Kelner Boutique Factory) cigar, and I'm very impressed. KBF is definitely on my radar and I'm thinking the other offering will be great experiences. Can't remember what I paid, but these retailing for around $7 are well priced. Recommended.
