Intro / Pre-Smoke Judgement:

Had a Cubico around a year ago. It was one of the fifteen cigars given as part of the ticket price for the Coastal Cigar Fest. Honestly can't remember anything at all about it, but I know I didn't dislike it. Saw it at the shop, and felt it was time for a revisit.

1/3:

The taste is familiar, in that I now remember enjoying this stick. Reminds me a little of the Aging Room brand, especially the Original, but that may also be psychologically due to that stick also being my #2 favorite at that time. Don't know. This first 1/2 inch seems pretty complex, with a lot going on, and I all I can say is that it's awesome so far. Seems like a hint of floralness; great mixture of spice and a little pepper on the retrohale. After the first 1/2 inch, the taste seems to have changed (or maybe I'm just now acclimated), and spice-wise it's a little lighter or less pungent; and definitely some cocoa. Residual is kinda a thick tobacco taste.

2/3:

I've needed to relight a couple times. No biggie. It's been tunneling, but I felt my pace was good. Nice puffy ash so far. Draw has been kinda loose so far. Pepper jumps out quickly around the 1/2 mark - probably because it's been a bit of a chore to keep it going, despite decreasing my rests.

Around the 1/2 mark I started on the end of my book, and finished both together, as the nub started burning my fingers.

Full flavored - especially around the 3/3, where it becomes pretty pungent and rich.

Medium-plus to full bodied.

Draw stayed tight till i pinched the cut a bit.

In the 3/3 the burn remained better, not really sure why.

Trial By Smoke Judgement:

Great stick with lots of flavor. Contruction seemed a little off internally - maybe because it's box-pressed? Overall recommended to the bums. $8.
