Strength: Medium-Full
Wrapper: Nicaraguan Corojo
Origin: Honduras

Prelight: It is interesting how the Love Story has the same shape as the Short Story by Fuente, but I will try to keep my love affair with AF out of this story. The wrapper has a musty, sweet floral aroma to it and a nice sheen. The construction looks really good. There is a strong chocolate taste from the cold draw, which is quite tight. Given how small this cigar is, I’ll be doing the review in halves, instead of thirds.

1/2: The draw immediately opens up after getting past the perfecto nipple. The initial flavors are cream and cedar, and the burn is uneven from the start. Black pepper comes into play as the burn corrects itself, and the cream fades into the background. At the halfway mark, the cream fights to regain recognition, and the cedar flavors gains an earthiness to it, tasting more like oak at this point.

2/2: The second half is quite oaky, with cream and pepper prevalent in the retrohale. As the nub approaches, the cigar continues to get more and more earthy and dusty tasting.

Overall: Quite a good cigar, which in my opinion rightfully rivals the AF Hemingway SS. The burn started off a bit funky, but corrected itself and burned straight until the end. As one of the cheapest (and fuller) option for NC RyJs, this cigar is absolutely worth a try.
