Rocky Patel Sun Grown Maduro (Lancero)
1/3:
Very earthy maduro. Can't recall having a maduro like this. No sweetness.
Medium to med+ body.
Some kind of pepper. The stick on semi-dark tasting, so I'm thinking more white pepper, since the stick's already semi-dark tasting from the maduro.
The pepper nicely and lightly nips in the back of the mouth. During the retrohale, the taste me think of a garden-tomatoes-on-the-vine-aroma kind of spice/pepper. Also thought of the Garden Salsa Sun Chips. It's subtle, but seemed there.
Light coffee residual.
2/3:
Earthiness picks up, along with the semi-darkness.
The more I was thinking of the vined tomato spice, the more I thought of a jalapeno sensation that could've been the pepper/spice. Seems more fitting, but, and as always - just another mere thought triggered by a taste.
Leather discernable towards the end.
Residual becoming more coffee-like with bakers chocolate. Spreads around the mouth more-and-more and you progress.
3/3:
Whatever pepper/spice it maybe may have disappeared or morphed totally into the now more-present leather.
Earthiness turns more towards a darker and more good-bitter coffee.
Lots of good-bitter coffee, and maybe bitter chocolate on the residual.
Judgement:
Interesting stick with the taste triggering. Got a good spectrum of earth, and it's pretty-good stick overall - it may get a notch above this on my next encounter. Wouldn't mind bidding on the other vitolas, and seeing how they play out. Got it for $3.50 - $4.50, and it smoked above it. Recommended.

Interesting, I did not know Rocky made any lanceros. I have had this cigar in a robusto/toro and I found it to be enjoyable.

I don't see RP lanceros at stores, but this one is on Cigarbid. I've seen the Twentieth lancero there also.
