Drink: Pepsi Throwback - 3rd cigar of the Herf, it's time to pump some sugar into the system.
A beautiful Connecticut wrapper, no soft spots and wonderful construction all around! There are a few slight veins but like I said I enjoy a cigar with some veins There was one little water spot on the cigar but it did not affect it at all.
Getting into the first few puffs of the cigar pepper is taking over immediately. For about the first half inch or so it was nothing but pepper/spice which is to be expected from the other Perdomo cigars I have had.
Getting through the first third the slight uneven burn immediately corrected itself and the spice is now taking a backseat to a nice nutty flavor. The cigar became much more smooth and creamy after the initial spice kick.
The second third of this cigar is producing some nice woody flavors. I am still picking up a nutty flavor as well. At this point the cigar is smoking just about perfectly and I am having no issues as I did with the Maduro. This is a wonderful cigar so far.
As we get towards the very end of the second third I am picking up the spice once again, not overpowering but you can certainly tell that initial spice is back. The cigar became a bit uneven at this point as well but nothing that would affect the smoke.
As we get into the final third of the cigar the spice is here to stay...it is being rounded out quite nicely with an earthy flavor. A few more puffs into the final third and the spice is picking up once again, I guess it did not want us to forget about it
And onto the nub we go, the Connecticut wrapper this cigar triumphed over the Maduro wrapper in Round 1, I will certainly revisit both since I got some tar from the Maduro Edicion de Silvio. This was a wonderful cigar in both flavor and construcion!
