Intro:

Final review of the Habano 3 Pack.

Pre-Smoke Judgement:

The SP Maduro was OK at best, but the Habano Pack has performed better. I'm a little optimistic, but am in the belief that the SBR was the star of the pack, so the SP will be not as good, but still decent.

1/2:

Habano flavor and sweetness is decent at first, then moves to the far background. The detection of the common blend between the FYR and SBR isn't as easily noticed in the SP, and may not have as much in common with the others. Not a whole lot going on 1 inch in. Hints of spice are sometimes discernable. Draw is a chore, but will get better with your fix method. Heavier + pastier light nutty flavored residual. Nearing the 1/2 point, the habano flavor becomes goes further into the background.

1/2:

Figured out she's better with a high temp burner...and finally has a decent little spice and a profile kick-up. Retrohaling and orally, it is now much more pleasurable, and offers a decent tobacco bite. Interest is peaked 1/4 through. The draw has finally stopped being stubborn, is pulling much better. Same residual. Same habano presence. Tossed her in the graveyard a smidge beyond the 1/2 point.

Trial By Smoke Judgement and Recap:

OK at best. She's best when hot to bring more spice. I'd recommend to habano wrapper enthusiasts to first score the PDR Habano Pack prior to buying the SP individually, and smoke in the following order: SP, FYR, SBR (my ranking). I'll keep my radar on PDR's mid-high end sticks to see how they fare against all six from the two packs.
