Another Opus X presented in a beautiful coffin...I sure do love my Fuente Coffins
This cigar was damaged in shipment so I had my worries in smoking it...despite the tears and cracks this baby smoked beautifully with no burn issues and no relights needed. The construction on it was great except where it got torn up from shipment.
The first few puffs bring out a nice cedar taste rounded out nicely with the Opus spice many of us have come to either love or hate.
As we work our way through the first third of this beauty I am still detecting the cedar and spice however they have flip flopped and the spice is at the forefront...very enjoyable so far and even with the spice a nice smooth smoke so far.
Getting into the second third this baby is producing a TON of smoke and the woody flavors are picking up...at this point I realize this could be bad as I am absolutely LOVING this cigar and definitely need to pick up more sometime down the road. Still burning just about perfectly despite the wrapper issues.
The final third produces more "smooth" spicy flavors and the cedar is still hanging around. This is what I would call a perfect spice flavor...nothing to overwhelming and flavorful enough where you can taste it throughout. Definitely the best lancero I have had and possibly the best Opus X I have had....the LFMF does give it a run for it's money though.
And onto the nub we go....what a perfect start to the NJ Herf we had on Wednesday...throughout the entire cigar I was thinking to myself "Today is going to be a fantastic day"
Not sure how readily available these are but if you do get a chance to pick one up do not hesitate....just buy it and thank me later!
Hope you enjoyed another Opus X review.
Sit back, relax and enjoy a nice cigar in good health!
