Did I mention this is a LONG ASS SMOKE?

So here we go, the Opus A is presented in a beautiful coffin!

Construction on this cigar was flawless, a beautiful wrapper with no noticeable wrapper issues...time to get to work!

The initial first few puffs are bringing a nice leather flavor..it is surprisingly smooth for the first inch or so. Yes I know..I look quite ridiculous smoking this cigar

As we work our way through the first third I am getting a dominant leather flavor but the Opus spice is slowly coming around (more on this later) so far, so good! The burn was a bit uneven at times...but with a cigar this size I don't think anyone would expect a perfect burn.

Into the second third we go and the leather flavors are still dominant, that Opus spice is still sitting in the background, at this point I am still hanging in there and it is a pretty smooth cigar. More earthy/leathery than it is spice which is quite different from the other Opus I have smoked. But something tells me when we hit the final third...it is going to take a dramatic turn!

I had to relight the cigar several times and it did require a touchup or two but it did not hinder my thoughts on the cigar at all. I went in knowing that it would not give me a perfect burn or even a consistent one due to it's ridiculous size. Right before we hit the final third I put it out and "started over"

Into the final third we go and BOOOM! The spice has taken over, I am getting a serious nicotine kick at this point and this is about when I popped the Mexican Coke to get some sugar into my system. The cigar is burning well and the spice about all I am tasting at this point.

And onto the nub we go....or do we? Right about now I am hurting...this is just about hour 3 into the cigar and boy is it an ass-kicker! A quick shot of the band so I can take a small break

A few more puffs and still the spice/pepper is overpowering any other flavors I tasted throughout the cigar...either the final third is a pure powerhouse or the nicotine has been slowly taking over my body, time to break out the skewer.

A few more puffs and I just can't take it anymore....it's time to grab the towel and go...let's call this a last ditch effort to nub the mighty Opus A.

The pool certainly helped but I must admit defeat, I threw in the towel with about 3/4 of an inch left. At this point I felt like I was drunk...like stumble across the room and fall on my face drunk!

It was certainly a fun experience and probably should have smoked this first and not last! Would I recommend them to someone!? Absolutely...a big part of cigar smoking is having fun and this was certainly a blast!

Hope you enjoyed!
