Oliva V Series Ligero Special V Figurado

Size: 6 x 60
Strength: Full
Flavor: Full
Blend Origin: Nicaragua
Wrapper Origin: Nicaragua

Initial Impression
This cigar sports a shape not commonly found. The gauge starts at about 50 and ends at 60. The wrapper is a smooth dark chocolate. Not toothy and overall a well constructed cigar.

Draw & Burn
The draw was tight for the first third. This is most likely due to its shape. But, this cigar really shines in the second third. The flavors begin to blend well, which I’ll talk later, and the draw loosens up. Some people have noticed the burn is not consistent and I agree with that. All four of these cigars I smoked had some minor burning issues. Again, I would notch this up to the shape.

Flavor & Aroma
Where this cigar shines is flavor and aroma. While most Oliva V cigars lean towards the peppery and spicy side, these lean more toward a coffee and chocolate flavor. The flavor is very smooth if smoked slowly. But, smoke this too quick and you may be coughing up a lung.

Final Impression
Overall this cigar has fantastic flavor. The smooth earthy blend with coffee and chocolate makes this a very relaxing smoke. The unusual shape may deter many smokers, but any seasoned aficionado will be comfortable with maintaining a good burn. My last thought is while this line does not hold the usual pepper and spicy flavors Oliva is known for, this is still a full bodied and full flavored cigar.
