Oliva Serie G Cameroon - Tin Size

*Just a note* This vitola is NOT the Special G vitola that's as far as I know, the smallest vitola that online vendors carry the Serie G in. I bought this at my local B&M. I live in NY (crazy taxes..) and would love to see the prices for this vitola online as it's become one of my favorite smokes. If anyone has seen these online please leave a comment!!

Medium-Full Body / Light Strength

The tin these come in doesn't provide a vitola, but does say it's long filler so these are not some crap machine rolled cigarillos that come in tins. These are just mini handmade Serie G's.

Prelight : Firm, dense pack. Dark chocolatey looking thick wrapper that's got a bumpy texture, with visible seams. Has a slight barnyard aroma.

1/3 : After a really quick toasting there's a ton of smoke output right off the bat. The draw has just a touch of resistance but it has an output of a very loose draw. The body throughout is medium-full, with a smooth smoke that has a great mouth feel. The flavors are not sharp or in your face but they are there. The first third I pick up sweet, cocoa flavors mostly. They are mellow and I'm enjoying the smoke output and "feel" of the smoke in my mouth more than the flavors really.

2/3 - 3/3 : I put these two thirds together because it's such a short smoke I figured I'd condense it. There isn't a big transition with these, probably due to the really small vitola. Around halfway or so there is a shift to a toastier type of flavor. The smoke stays smooth and really thick. On my retrohale I pick up a sweet/cherry like chocolate which is pretty nice. The flavor profile of this cigar is pretty good IMO just a bit mellow. The burn stays amazingly cool throughout considering that it's such a small RG and I've heard that smaller RG's have a tendency to heat up more. Even at the nub I can put my fingers right behind the cherry and feel no heat at all. That's a big plus in my book. Have noticed absolutely no strength at all by the end of the stick which is great by me.

Overall : These are damn good when you're short on time. These usually take me 40-50 minutes to finish down to the nub and sometimes that's all I've got time for. Great on short car trips too. I'm out of these now and if I can't find this vitola online for cheaper, may go ahead and try out the Special G vitola from CI.com. Definitely a cigar I'm keeping in my humidor.

I think the heat behind the burn line is dependent a lot on how frequent and how quick your draws are, as well as how open the draw is and the RH the cigar was stored at.

It appears to be the cigarillo size.

All I found for a quick search was famous. I'm sure there are others with better pricing to be found.

I admit I have not had any interest in cigarillos. Do they tend to be on par with the quality of the full-size cigars, just thinner and shorter?

Right. I just don't know if the same care is put into blending a cigarillo.
