Honestly if you want to smoke it, a week is enough, IMO. Unless it has a reputation for needing rest, most cigar makers age their cigars for a year or longer before it leaves the factory.
I have never read of a cigar that was a dog rocket ROTT but then became a holy crusade worthy cigar after a few years aging.
So in other words, if you're interested in trying it, try it now. If you like it and want to, buy more and age some of them!
