I tried a Maroma Dulce Robusto today. My wife enjoys sweets, and so I figured she'd enjoy the Flor de Oliva sweetened tip series, but I also was recommended to try these.

Wrapper: Standard Connecticut color, very veiny but well wrapped. The label is glossy and smooth, which is actually unusual for a cigar band.

The smoke: The cigar toasted well and lit easily. I had burn line issues, but part of that is my new thing to try to be less vigorous about lighting a cigar, to try to prevent overheating.

The taste: You can definitely tell that the cap is sweetened, but it's much more subtle than with the Flor de Oliva cigars. If you like just a hint of sweetness, then these may be worth a try!

As for the rest of the taste, the cigar is very inexpensive, so there wasn't much to write home about. If you want a yard gar with a bit of sweetness, or you want to stock some slightly sweetened cigars for occasional smoker friends to try, then I wouldn't hesitate to recommend these.

Summary:

They're inexpensive, but well constructed. Nobody is ever going to pick these for Cigar of the Year, but you can definitely do worse in the $2/stick category. Pick up a few, it won't set you back much, and it's a bit different!
