MSRP: $8.55
Strength: Medium-Full
Wrapper: Ecuadorian Connecticut
Origin: Dominican Republic
*LFD has named this cigar “Belicoso” despite its parejo shape, but the size is a slightly long robusto…so take it as you will.

Prelight: The light wrapper is pretty smooth, but there are a couple, small, rustic-looking veins. The wrapper has a slightly pungent and grassy aroma like wet hay. The foot also smells like a barnyard, but with a little powdered cocoa to it. The cold draw after punching is a little tight, but I have a feeling it’ll loosen up. The taste is very mild wood and hay.

1/3: The cigar starts with cream and nuts, but quickly black pepper and wood are added with just a hint of earth. After about ¼ of the cigar has gone up in smoke, leather creeps into the mix as well, however, the pepper and woody flavors are overpowering the subtleties of the cream, nuts, leather and earth. By the end of the first third, the nuttiness is doing its best to be noticed.

2/3: As far as ash, I’ll let the picture speak. The second third welcomes back the creamy, nutty flavors from the beginning. Then, wood charges back to the front. Then leather. This cigar sure likes to change its stripes. The second third ends with an introduction of hay.

3/3: The final third calms down as far as the undulating flavors, and is a mixture of hay, wood and pepper, steadily, unto the end.

Overall: I thought this would be a quick smoke, as the first third ended in 20 minutes. But, then cigar slowed down and the whole thing lasted a good hour and a half. The flavor changes kept it interesting and the construction was fabulous. This is another winning cigar put out by the LFD folks.
